When time is of the essence and you require extra suitable work at short notice this page allows you to purchase AQE Practice Papers to Download. Each individual AQE test from our pack of three composite tests can be downloaded for immediate use.
These downloads contain the same questions as the AQE Transfer Test pack but give you the convenience of accessing the material immediately via a secure download link. An answer sheet is included for each test that you download.
The demands of the AQE Transfer Test (also known as the CEA or Common Entrance Assessment) requires your child to understand and apply many of the maths and English topics that they will have been taught in their day to day school work. The standard of learning and revision required will be of a high standard - working to what is known as Level 5 work and not beyond this level.
Each downloaded practice test is suitable additional practice for the AQE tests and is a composite mix of both English topics and maths topics.
The mathematics subjects covered include shape & space and this is one of the Attainment Targets detailed in the Northern Ireland school curriculum for maths. One topic area within this attainment target may be that your child needs to have developed their language associated with line and angle, including vertical, horizontal, perpendicular, parallel, acute, obtuse and reflex. This is just one aspect of this whole domain of Shape and Space.
Other aspects will include understanding ¼ turns, ½ turns and whole turns to understand the notion of angle in the context of turning; find right angles in 2-D and 3-D shapes, name these shapes and understand clockwise and anticlockwise; know and be able to apply eight points of the compass.
This is but a small amount of work that your child needs to have been taught and revised regularily in order to apply this knowledge quickly during the Transfer Test exam. Practicing a wide variety of maths question types in a variety of different conditions will help to reduce the fear of the unknown.
There are a wide selection of maths and English questions in these practice papers. In the English section of the AQE tests children will be expected to demonstrate competence in the use of grammar, punctuation and comprehension of a wide range of written text. Additional work such as this is covered in these practice papers.
Sample pages are available for each test on the product details page.
